How it works
Mark Up a Screenshot in Three Steps
- 1
Add a screenshot
Paste, drop or choose an image — or open a result from another Shotexa tool without uploading it again.
- 2
Point things out
Add arrows, boxes, highlights, text, freehand notes and numbered steps. Select any mark to move, resize or restyle it.
- 3
Export at full resolution
Your marks are drawn onto the original pixels on your device and saved as a new image. The original stays untouched.
Questions
Annotating, answered
- Can I change an annotation after adding it?
- Yes. Every mark stays editable until you export: select it to move it, resize it, change its colour, or delete it. Undo and redo work for every change.
- Will the text be sharp in the exported image?
- Yes. Annotations are drawn at the full resolution of your screenshot when you export, not stretched up from the preview.
- Are my screenshots uploaded?
- No. Annotating and exporting happen in your browser. Your screenshot is not sent to a server.
- How do numbered steps work?
- Each new step marker takes the next number. Deleting a marker never silently renumbers the others; use Renumber when you want them to run 1, 2, 3 again.
