Shotexa vs Convertio
Compare Shotexa's local screenshot conversions with Convertio's broad cloud-based file conversion catalog.
Reviewed 20 October 2026 against the official product pages linked below. Features may change.
The practical difference
Convertio supports many more image types and conversion directions than Shotexa, plus cloud imports and batches. Its own documentation says conversion happens in the cloud, input files are deleted after conversion and output files normally remain available for up to 24 hours. Shotexa's narrower PNG/JPEG/WebP workflow runs in the browser and keeps the converted result alongside the original for editing, redaction and export during the current tab session.
Workflow comparison
| Question | Shotexa | Convertio |
|---|---|---|
| Processing location | Local browser processing for the image and PDF/SVG workflows on this page | Cloud conversion on Convertio infrastructure |
| Image formats | PNG, JPEG and WebP; separate supported SVG/PDF image tools | Broader image catalog, including specialist and camera formats |
| File sources | Device files, paste, drop and temporary Shotexa results | Device, Google Drive, Dropbox and URL imports |
| Batch work | Bounded screenshot batch processing and ZIP packs for supported tasks | Batch conversion across more formats |
| What happens next | Result remains a temporary image in the connected editing workspace | Converted files are available to download, with Convertio's stated retention policy |
When Shotexa fits better
Your image is already PNG, JPG or WebP and you value browser-local processing, measured output settings and immediate continuation into screenshot editing or privacy tools.
When Convertio fits better
You need a format Shotexa cannot decode, a URL/cloud-drive import, or broad batches across mixed and specialized file types.
Convertio publishes a retention policy: it says inputs are removed after conversion and outputs after 24 hours unless removed earlier. The difference here is where processing occurs, not a claim that Convertio keeps every file permanently.
